Administrators running a north Wales care homes group say they expect to advertise the business for sale within a month.
The Southern Care Group, which runs nine homes in Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham, went into administration two weeks ago.
Jon Newell of administrators PKF said there had been several "expressions of interest".
He said maintaining care standards was the "first priority".
Southern employs 270 staff, and although 15 ancillary employees were laid off at its Abergele HQ last week, Mr Newell said some extra care workers had been recruited.
He said a series of meetings had been held with residents, local authority officials and the regulatory authority to ensure everyone was kept informed.
Mr Newell added: "We're looking to get interested parties involved in the next four weeks
"We're not in a great rush to sell and, by the time we've gone through all the procedures, it could be Easter time before a transfer of ownership is completed."
The Southern Care Group cares for up to 300 elderly people.
Some of the homes provide extra levels of care, including looking after mentally infirm residents.
The administrators said a lot of care homes had been experiencing financial problems, due to a combination of factors.
