The English Community Care Association (ECCA), the leading representative charity for independent care homes, has condemned the Government and local authorities for the cuts to social care services.
Martin Green, Chief Executive of ECCA, says:
“At a time when demographics alone would indicate a need for increased funding, we see that care services are bearing a disproportionate level of cuts within local authority budgets.”
Martin Green continues:
“There is a need for urgent action to stop services collapsing and vulnerable people being left without care and support. If the Government believes that education is such a priority that it has to be ring-fenced, then surely the same must be true of care services.”
